Candidate for State Committee Member

“As an immigrant, a daughter, and a neighbor, I don’t just live in our district—I advocate for it. I am running for State Committee because our neighborhood deserves a representative who has a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and is committed to the Lower East Side and Chinatown”

Community

Beautifying Our Streets

After walking past a neglected local triangle park everyday, asking herself “Why hasn't someone done something?", Fannie founded Friends of Montgomery Triangle Park in 2019. She has organized events involving clean-ups, painting benches, and planting greenery to give our neighbors a space to gather and enjoy.

Protecting Our Green Space

As an active member of East River Park Action, where she fought for flood protection that didn't require the total destruction of our park. She led a rally at the Comptroller’s office to delay the signing of the contract with the construction company. The contract was delayed but was ultimately signed.

Preserving Affordable Housing

Serving on the Board of Directors for Gouverneur Gardens Housing Corp., she helps oversee and assist issues affecting the Mitchell Lama co-op. Gouverneur Gardens is currently undergoing a major capital improvement project.

Fighting for Chinatown

Fannie joined Neighbors United Below Canal (NUBC) to oppose the tallest jail to be built in Chinatown. She created the group’s Facebook page to help mobilize the community against the new jail.

Advocacy

Affordability

  • Fight cuts to benefits such as SNAP and healthcare.

  • Protect and Increase Affordable housing to ensure truly affordable housing such as Mitchell Lama stays affordable and advocate for more affordable housing such as the alternative plan at the new Chinatown Jail location.

Voter Representation & Census 2030

  • Mobilize the AAPI Vote: Increase the AAPI vote by conducting in-language voter registration drives to ensure the community is heard.

  • Action for upcoming Census 2030: Begin the discussion and organizing against possible threats such as funding cuts and the immigration question to prevent undercount and ensure proper representation.

Fight Trump!

  • Strengthening the Democratic Party: Build a stronger, more unified State Democratic Party

  • Protecting Immigrant Rights: Ensure New York remains a sanctuary state by funding legal defense services for our immigrant neighbors.
